D Drive help

Whenever I put a CD or game into my CD drive (I believe its actually the D drive) nothing happens and it doesnt appear when I click on my computer. Is there any spyware or bad program that could do this or do I need to try and clean it out or get it fixed? The only thing is the light below it blinks and the disk does spin slightly. Thanks so much for any help.

 

ok...have you opened the case at all? If so, did you happen to check all the plugs, and connections, to make sure they're all solidly connected and whatnot?

Also, does the computer see the hard drive when it boots? (Does it show up during POST?

Post back on what operating system you are using, if the drive is displayed in the Bios, if it's detected in Device Manager with no errors, and if it worked previously?
