3 million downloads, it does not have a virus. I suggest updating your virus scanner or getting something more reliable. Try AVG maybe.

? what email?? maybe if you try to make sense it will help us answer :D
Ad-Aware does not have a virus, but the installation file is an executable so if you have a totally paranoid av then it will think its a virus. seriously go for AVG its much better

He means the email that MG sends whenever a reply is made to this thread. Your IE settings are too high. I just live with it rather than lowering my settings.

What do you think is the best virus scan?

I have used mcafee, and avg..... have not had a virus in a while. What do you think the pro's and con's of each are?

Im looking for a small footprint (few directories, few installed programs, smallest memory usage) and have found AVG to be one of the best all around. McAffee likes to install extra crap you dont want to try and sell you their other products and Nortons is a system hog, also installing their update and one other.

I guess if you have a program thats decent on memory usage, reliable, and all the features of a commercial product, why buy one? AVG.

well maybe my virus scanware is paranoid... all the better I say.. I will maybe have to adjust it to allow adaware exe.files or something like that. And as for the email from MG. yes it is going to Junkmail as it has incorrect or corrupted . From. data..

I dont :) I understand peoples paranoia, but with a small amount of knowledge, which you seem to have (firewall, anti virus, ad-aware) you should be safe. I look at it this way... In order to be on the internet, downloading files, send and receive emails, you need to allow data to be sent and received. The threats change occasionally, but their main route remains the same. If you really want to be safe, unplug your computer from however you connect to the internet. Problem solved. :)

In all seriousness, the few tools you have should suffice without going overboard. You should have a good off line backup, especially critical or often changed files like projects or personal information. Most of us lock our homes and cars, yet realize someone can still break in in MANY different ways, computers to me are the same. Put all the locks on you want, you never know... Be prepared. Me, I keep a gun on every floor of my house.... but were getting off track ;)

Junkmail? Sounds like Hotmail or something. Our emails come to some as spam, though its an expected email from us to you. Not sure why were spam in that regard, but its noted on the registration page. If thats not what you meant, ignore me :)

Well im happy with my virus scan .. Its top quality upto date and wrks well... as shown by its response to the adaware d/l :)
as to the email.. yea i use hot mail . and yes it must be seeing as spam stuff ... as I said b4 it is on the 'from' line that it sees either incorrect or corrupted infomation....
Hey thanks for all your time..:)

If it gives false positives then it doesn't work well.

Was going to say the same thing, but I thought that was obvious, so I left it alone... Some people dislike change, even if its to their advantage...

So, I guess ill try and clarify, God knows why... Ad-Aware does not have a virus, your scanner is wrong (false positive as mentioned above) so your scanner is not working well.... :) When you start letting your system tell you you have viruses or intrusions that are not there, you have a problem and it aint security.

    Good luck man! :)
