Hello to all, ever since my idiot father installed a D-link EBR 2310 router to my computer so there's internet on his, my internet has been constantly crashing and when i'm on Steam, I only find rougly 500 servers which never seems to connect. Just yesterday, I disconnected the router and plugged the cable from my modem(I use cable) to my computer. Then, my internet never was interupted and I found about 10,000 servers to play on Steam. Now, My stupid dad wants the internet and never believes me when I tell him this so, I need help on disabling the firewall on my router. I went on the site and enabled DMZ and put my IP address. It still didn't work. Port Forwarding didn't even do anything either. Please help.

    Hey hav3nsblade,

The built-in NAT firewall on all of these types of routers can't be turned off.

    1. reset the router back to its default settings.

    2. next, make sure to read the implicit instructions on how to setup port forwarding.

    3. set the incoming/outgoing values from 1 up to 65535 to see if it clears the problem.

*also, sometimes the router is not very compatible with the dsl/cable modem or an online game. if the return policy time is still in affect, you may want to talk to you fellow steamers to see what router they use and swap out to that brand.
