i have a dlink di-624 wireless g router with a 4 port switch resently i tried to add my sisters computer to the wireless network (the first wireless on it) i have every thing in the router set up right (dont ask me if i configered it wrong im superb at networking). when i pluged it the dwl-g510 adapter into my sisters computer it had no signal from my router just my neighbors. so i brought them into the same room i olny got 40% CONNECTION WHEN THEY WERE AIM RIGHT AT EACH OTHER! i have every thing set up right too.all i can figure is somthing is interfering with it so i removed the wireless phone from the room still no change what do you think it could be?

do you think it could be a fault with your antenna on the wireless router, can you try a different one?

I think bluetooth uses the same spectrum as wireless b/g, do you have bluetooth devices?

One thing I have noticed with D-Link products, if you use their wireless connection software, you should do this:
    1) Go into control panel
    2) Select properties of wireless connection
    3) Uncheck 'allow windows to manage wireless connection"
otherwise the connection strength jumps all over the place.

I'm not sure about your knowledge of networking, so forgive me if I'm restating the obvious.

also each time you changed the wireless channel on the router, did you change it on the wireless card also to match.

Sorry if you already know this, just trying to help

That only affects the client if using an ad-hoc connection. The router controls the channel if in infrastructure mode.

did you try my earlier suggestions?

yeah i unchecked 'allow windows to manage wireless connection" and there are no bluetooth devices. i also put the antena from the adapter on the router and used a old linksys usb adapter u had - same results. and i actualy changed the channel so much on both of them the adapter and router stoped responding to the change :p . a simple restart fixed dat though.

I dont get full strength to my Dlink router. I hover at ~60 signal strength when only 5 feet away.

However, it works fine, and I get good speeds.

Incidently, its the same model of router.
