D S O Exploit

    After yesterday's fiasco with the searchmall invasion on one computer, and the random homepage browser hijacking (which seems to be nicely under control), there is something else coming up on the computer. Every time we run the Spybot S & D, it comes up with D S O Exploit - 5 items. We fix the problem, and it comes right back. What IS this?? I ran a Google search, but couldn't find much about it.

    Also.. when we run F-Prot Antivirus OnDemand Scanner, it keeps finding C:\WINDOWS\crpb32.exe. It says it's a security risk called W32/Agent.V@dll Any clues quite what this little critter might be?

    This is being posted separately cuz I missed the 3 minute time limit on editing messages.

    There is a slight flaw with the latest SBS&D in relation to throwing up DSO exploit alerts.... we touched on the subject here, I have linked to the start of the thread as Bazza gave specific info on what was wrong and after a bit of searching I in my post near bottom of 1st page found a solution.... it does involve registry editing tho!

    so if you not happy editing the registry dont do it await an updated SB


    one other app to try maybe this on to close the DSO exploit http://www.nsclean.com/dsostop.html
    I have used this little app and it caused no ill effects on my PCs
