I have loaded daemon tools ages ago, and it all worked fine. Last night I defragmented my PC, and today it won't boot. The error appears to be in respect of d347bus.sys which is a known error within daemon.

I have an Advent 3214 desktop, so tried the recovery disk - but it won't give me any options to do a windows XP restore, without formatting the whole drive. I don't really want to do this.

I have tried to boot into DOS prompt so that I could rename the errant file, but whenever I manage to boot into A:\ it then can't find C:\

It continues to try to boot and tells me that on last boot it was a failure etc. I know this, but it won't let me boot to safe mode or anything.

I am starting to lose it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does any one have any ideas, about how I can boot so that I can simply rename a file on my c:\ drive?

    Thanks

Assuming that you are using NTFS with your OS, you will need an NTFS dos boot disk to edit/modify files on your hard drive. You can download the files for the boot disk here:
