I just got everest and I'[m worried about some of my temps

    CPU- 52 C idle, 55 while gaming
    HDD- 56 idle same gaming
motherboard and everything else is around 40

how dangerous is this, if it is dangerous what do you suggest for cooling?

There are some case modded in thread Cooling and modding
If you use fans you have to pay attention to air flow heading from front to back case.
there are some case have fron fan, back fan, intake fan (side fan), top fan....

well do these temps look like they may damage my computer, because I don't think I can get new fans just yet, should I leave my comp off?

Firstly, you need to say what kinda hardware are you running, and what's the ambient temperature like in your neck of the woods.

Some CPUs run hotter than others so it's really difficult to say if your temperatures are dangerous. Your motherboard and HDD temperatures do look somewhat high though. My temps read like this:

    Ambient: 17ºC

    Idle
    CPU: 35ºC
    Mobo: 29ºC
    HDD: 23ºC

    Load
    CPU: 45ºC
    Mobo: 30ºC
    HDD: 27ºC

But I do run watercooling on the CPU, and my case is has extremely good airflow characteristics, including a completely meshed front panel, 120mm front intake fan and 2x 90mm exhaust fans.

Your temps (esp CPU) don't seem to rise much when you're gaming, this seems to me like it's a case of poor airflow in your case, ie. all the heat is trapped in there, hence the high idle temperatures. Or it could be that you're living in an extremely hot climate.

I noticed your nick as well, are you referring to a laptop? Laptops generally run fairly hotter anyway, due to lack of airflow/cooling.

My 2¢ worth, not gospel by any measure.

My temps are around there (i use motherboard monitor, MBM5)

    IDLE
    Case temp/Ambient : About 30C
    CPU Diode : about 45-50C
    CPU Socket : 40C

    LOAD
    Case temp/Ambient : About 30C
    CPU Diode : 60-70C
    CPU Socket : 55-60

So to me your temps look normal, Im just using air cooling, 2 intake fans in front and using the 2 PSU fans as exhaust...

found out some info I have a prescott CPU, I heard they naturally run hott, but I feel like this is still too high, you think so?

Your CPU temp doesn't look overly hot, 55ºC under load for a stock aircooled Prescott looks pretty decent actually. It's the HDD temperatures I would be worried about, 56ºC more than twice as hot as mine. IMHO, it's probably the overall airflow of your case that's creating an environment that has a lot of latent heat. That said however, your CPU should be running extremely hot under load if that is the case, as the heat isn't dissipated effectively, but yet you're only getting 3ºC increases under load.

When I had stock air cooling in a half shitty case, my Prescott ran at 48ºC idle and 60ºC under load. Look here for my cooling adventures: http://forum.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=62643&highlight=scoobysix
