I have a MSI dvd burner and it will only burd to dvdr/rw+ and not -, I do believe it is only built to do this, but if there is any software out there do change this or any other way i would be more then happy to hear about it. Also can it be converted to dual layer burning?

 

Any firmware upgrades should be supplied by the manufacturer, MSI, in your case. If the burner isn't a dual format +/- drive, then it is unlikely that a firmware upgrade will fix this problem. As for making it a dual/double layer burner, I would have to say no.
