Darik's Boot and Nuke?

Hey Guys,
Where can I get this program and how does it work?
I've seen my IT Instructor at college use it on a HD of mine.
I want to wipe a hard drive a friend of mine has that has some personal stuff (bank info etc..) on it.

Here it is. There should be an iso file in the zip file that you can burn to create a bootable CD. One pass is sufficient to erase the drive.

Active@killdisk is also good. You want to use the Dos iso version.

Both these programs zero out the drive. If you have an IDE drive, you can also use Secure Erase which uses the internal erase command of the drive and is faster and also can wipe sectors marked as bad which the others cannot do.

Just burn the .iso to a CD? what about the other files?

 

The iso is sufficient. The other files are just text, url and image files
