I am using Windows Vista for the first time. The computer is working fine, with the only problems that I'm having is getting used to everything that is new about it.
My problem is that when I enter a game room the game room screen is darkened to the point that I can barely see anything. When I visit a site online (ie....yahoo, major geeks, pogo main page, etc.), the screen is just fine. But, when I click to play a game, the new screen that appears looks like it is darkly shaded. Also, I just purchased the game 'I Spy' for my kids and the screen is so dark that they can't see the items they need to find.
Does anyone know how to change this feature with Windows Vista?
    Thanks.

We've had problems like that with a few games and my son remembers that the problem was the graphics card not being good enough.

What your card is or whether dropping your resolution would help, I'm not sure but you could try.

Right-click on an empty area of the desktop, choose "Properties" and then click the "Settings" tab. Check to see what Colours are being used and drop it down to a lower setting.

And my son has just wandered over and seen what I'm responding to and promptly said, "There's his problem; he's running on Vista!" He said that one of the things people don't like about Vista is that very few games will run on it properly and recommends going back to XP for gaming. (I love having a family with differing interests - it makes for a larger knowledge base than if we were all interested in the same things! :) )

So now you have a few possibilities!
