Hey guys, I have a dumb question about .DAT files. I don't care to read em. I don't care to open them, that's why I'm here. I have Kazaa lite K++ and when a download is in progress i get a .dat file in my shared folder. No big deal. I understand that it is the partial download. but I recently installed Nero, and now nero showtime icons appear for the dat files. I don't want this to happen anymore. how do i disassociate nero showtime with the dat files. I don't care to have any particular program assigned to them.
    Thanks

.dat is also the extension for the actual video file on a Video CD, that is why Nero is associated with them. Unassociate it and Nero will be unable to process Video CDs. Just don't open them and you will have no problems.
