Data Center 08 Server

I replaced the motheboard, a while back an didnt have any issues previously, with setting it up. I installed AD,DHCP an ran DCPromo. Gave it the numbers that it had. Checked the DNS an its giveing it the loop back address for some reason. I have the routers DHCP off. When I tell a client to join I get error 0x0000267C The Server has a Static IP

 

Ur post isnt clear, what is being given the loop back address? Anyway just a shot in the dark, have you set the 'prefered dns server' on your network adapter to point towards the static ip of the pc that serves dns?

 

sorry, I tried to provide as much as I could. DNS - Loopback. Im still kind of new too Server Networking, where do I check that?

 

Open network and sharing center via the task bar on your bottom right. Click 'manage network connection'. Right click the relevant network connection and choose properties. Pick ipv4. Click properties. Cheek 'prefered dns server'. If it has a value of 127.0.0.1, change it to the ip address of your server.

 

That should fix it then :/ I changed it but, I have files from another machine copping on it an dont have a free machine too test it with at the moment.

 

I tried joining a client then. I still get the same error checked an made sure the DNS number didnt change. I have the machine added in AD

I dont understand, why its doing this though.
