Data execution Prevention!!

    Hey fellas!

    I've upgrade my windows lately and i must say that this Data Execution thing is pisses me off.

    Anyone know how to get rid of this thing. I wanted to install Yahoo Messenger and I can not because of this Data thing!

    Any help would be much appreciated !

    try this
    1. Click Start
    2. Select Control Panel
    3. Select System
    4. Click the Advanced tab
    5. In the Performance region select Settings
    6. Click the Data Execute tab in the dialog box that opens
    7. Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except for those I select
    8. Click Add.
    9. The open dialog box will open. Browse and select your application.
    10. Click Open
    11. Click Apply
    12. Click Ok
    13. Reboot

    Thank you very much for the answer.. but my question was WHY can't i install Yahoo messenger.exe?

    DEP is picking up a flaw in the installer that could cause a Buffer Overflow.

    DEP is for stability and security reasons.

    Thanx for the reply . And i understand what is DEP is for stability and security but for now i'm asking myself how come i not install Yahoo messenger!! And if i could i would uninstall this DEP thing.. i simply hate it!!! Good maybe for Vista!!

    I can honestly say since DEP was put into XP I've not seen one prompt.

    Nor Vista.
