I just thought I would let you all know about this great utility that I found here on your sight. "Active Partition Recovery". My hard drive had a bad boot sector. All data was considered lost (yes I had a back up, but found it was corrupt) I ran the demo download, which let me see all my data files, I called the company to get the full version, they walked me through and I am now backing up all data with joy in my heart!!!

glad to hear a successful data recovery without a very pricey 'professional' job.

hope it all works fine! :)

Would it work for a drive that is showing as "RAW" you think?

Possibly. All RAW means is that windows cannot determine the file system. That does not mean that the Master File Table is gone or hte file data themselves.
