Data Recovery Software ??

I have an emachines laptop (m5310) and I had to recently re-format it using the cd's from the manufacturer.

In my excitement of re-formatting the comptuer, I forgot to back up some word documents. Is there any software out there that can be used to recover those files?

 

well it depends on whether your hard drive is in FAT, FAT32 or NTFS format. But either way. There is a program called GetDataBackNTFS and GetDataBackFAT. Both work pretty well but they arent the easiest programs in the world to use.

 

its NTFS Format and I actually did try GetDataBack for NTFS and I was able to retrieve one out of four word documents.

For the other three documents, I am able to download the ms word document but I recieve ""select the encoding that makes your document readable" and all the encodes dont work.

Or I recieve the "out of memory while expanding memory stream error"

any suggestions?
