I need some help recovering some deleted files.

Does anyone know of good free software that could help me recover some deleted files. I have found some software on CNET, but none of it is free.

I have not defraged or did a system recovery since I deleted the files, So is there a manual way of recovering deleted files?

One more thing, I downloaded Intel Accelerator recently. There has been no big change in my Pc's performance.

Im curious if anyone else uses intel accelerator, because I know it only runs with older intel chipsets.

Any advice on Intell Acc, Pro's n Cons's?

You might already know that deleted files actually still exist on your hard drive but you simply can't see them.

Windows identifies them as deleted - as far as you are concerned - but technically they are still sitting on the drive.

Now, windows knows you don't want them - because you deleted them - so it now considers the space that the files were sitting on as space it can now write new things over.

My caution to you is be careful installing apps onto your machine to help you recover - the install may well land right on top of your files when it does it.

It's not wrong that this might happen, it's just not what you probably want!

Perhaps find an app that can run off a jump drive or CD or something - so that you can leave your hard disk very much alone.

    Hope this helps you..

    Good luck!
