I just purchased a new computer and I am awaiting delivery. My questions are related to data transfer using the Belkin transfer cable and the data/programs I should or should not transfer. My questions are:

    1. Which files and or programs should I transfer?
.....I do not want alot of junk getting loaded on my new Pc.

    2. Which ones should I not transfer?

    3. After I transfer the files and folders I want, How do I clean up the PC so my personal data doesn't remain hidden somewhere on the HDD?

Thanks to all help and guidance with this. It will be greatly appreciated.

Generally speaking, programs will NOT transfer, so they're out. Transfer any files you want. I have no way of knowing what's on your old PC, and if you want it on your new PC. This is up to you.
Chances are, if you bought a pre-built PC from any major manufacturer (Dell, HP, Gateway, etc) it's going to be pre-loaded with junk. If it comes preloaded with crap, try this http://www.majorgeeks.com/PC_De-Crapifier_d5223.html
Again, this is up to you.
Use a wiping program. Here's one that will wipe selected files/folders http://www.majorgeeks.com/Eraser_d4221.html and another one http://www.majorgeeks.com/DP_Wiper_d4916.html
Here's a couple programs that will wipe (or 'shred') any free space on a hard drive http://www.majorgeeks.com/UltraWipe_d4758.html (shreds free space, files, and more) and this http://www.majorgeeks.com/nCleaner_d5476.html
If you want to wipe the entire drive, the best way is to use a bootable utility and boot it from the CD drive or floppy drive (if you have one). Here's two:
