Things have become a bit redundant between me and Jeanette. We usually just hang out at eachothers house. Any good date ideas?

Come on Zack, think a bit. What do you like to do, and what does she like to do?

I once dated a young lady that would never tell me what she wanted to do. So I took her to a kinda seedy but very safe pool hall, and we played pool. She had a blast, we went back many times.

If you are hanging out at each other's homes, why not cook? Try different foods, cooking methods.

See is there is a rifle range you can rent guns and shoot. You might be too young for that, what about paint ball. (Don't really recommend paint ball. Unless she asks you. Just goofing there. Goofing on the shooting also, unless you just want to try something new.)

How many museums are in your area, and how many have you been to?

Have you taught her how to apply TIM to a CPU when building a new computer? Self defense course?

    I can't imagine why I am single. :-D

You could try hanging out at each other's house.

Our 'dates' in high school consisted of parking in a car and making out. Hanging out at a house on an actual piece of furniture would have been like a luxury.

Go to a movie, a football game, bowling, the mall.

    Why aren't you in school?

Even a stroll in the park, riding the merry-go-round, pushing her in the swings, feeding the birds.
Or how about a nice picnic?
(Was good enough for us oldsters.):-D;)

If you weren't hanging out with her, what would you be doing for fun? And if your answer is "posting on Major Geeks" :p, what would she be out doing if she wasn't hanging out with you?

When my husband and I go on "dates" we basically go out and do thing we enjoy doing, but we do them together. We play glow-in-the-dark minigolf, we go to movies, we spend hours browsing video game stores, we go to book stores to sip big cups of hot chocolate while reading books and magazines, we take walks, we play split-screen co-op games on the PS3 or 360... whatever we enjoy doing. Of course, the reason we are able to stay happily married is that we enjoy the same things. We also watch TV shows together. We got Netflix from the PS3, and are working our way through every single season of "Hercules: The Incredible Journeys", and watch lots of movies together as well. We make a point of trying to get movies that makes us think, and gives us things to talk about. (Gattaca was a great conversation starter, as was The Matrix.)

And now I'm going to give a thorough :neener to everyone who smirked at the thought of watching Hercules. That show is endlessly entertaining, and the best part is that you really don't have to pay that much attention, because there's nothing important going on anyway. :) Plus, it's loads of fun to play identify-the-future-famous-actor-in-his/her-first-minor-role game. LOL

They all sound like Stephen king or Alfred hitchcock movies.:-D

    A stroll in the Park
    Riding the merry go round
    Pushing her in the swings
    Feeding the birds
    A nice picnic

A young couple wanted to enjoy the dream date without spending any cash, they innocently asked for idea's on an internet forum but the forum hid a secret, few of its members had ever dated! This would would lead the poor couple into a web of monotonous horror including walking in the park, riding the merry go round, feeding the birds and end in the most boring date in history

Coming this summer the dream date that turned into a nightmare, starring Zach, jeanette and Anthony Hopkins as a merry go round.

    Pushing her in the swings.

    :-D

I don't know, with Motc's ideas "My ideas involve two baconator Wendys hamburgers, some baby oil and a 9 iron." I might have a man crush on him. :-D:-D

Bacon is a weakness of mine.

Never dated?? Heck just Monday I dated a deposit slip. Bank accepted it...

    :-D

Zack, run from this thread. :cool

Well I've never really gone on a date as such, and hence I have nothing to contribute, most of the idea's that people say will be a great date sound like torture to me :-D

"Rikky do want to take me for a walk in the park and push me on the swings"

"I dunno, you want to go to the hospital and watch live colonoscopy?"

    :-D

Mot has a nine iron, and bacon. ;)

In all seriousness Zack, look for things to do. Cook an unusual meal for her family or yours, or got to some unusual cultural event.

Or go King Of The Hill style... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22-HSjMS3Ks

    :-D

Several of said forum members are however happily married, suggesting that their relationship skills are not quite as abysmal as you make them out to be. :p

Freds idea is good and find what food does she like the most, Next is cook something for her and have a evening in meal with either a movie or gaming, for the meal if you dont cook then get someone else to help but do, do most of it yourself and lay the table well (flowers etc).

or could both write down your top ten things to do that you like (make sure you both dont know what the others ideas are), then throw them in a pot and pick one out and do that thing each week... pick them all out in one go taking turns apeace and write them in a diary/calendar, and continue each week until the 20 are gone, then come back for more ideas after 20wks.

Spontaneity is important also Zach don't tell her what you have planned sometimes just do it,for example when you find out what food she likes just have the table ready when she comes round like David said.

My brother did something for my sister in law recently which even I thought was cool.On her birthday she thought she was working but he'd arranged for her to have the day off.In the morning she got up and started getting ready for work then he told her to put some nice clothes one she wasn't going to work she was spending the day clothes shopping, she got some evening wear they then went for dinner and stayed at the Hilton Hotel.

I was really impressed,my bro is a man's man I didn't think he did stuff like this.:) I know you can't afford to do something like this but I hope it gives you some idea's,secretive and out of the norm is exciting.

Hmm, you're 15 right Zach? It was always a death knell to me at that age when we wouldn't go out and do something, it's as if each one was saying 'I'm bored with you'.;) I'm not saying this is the case at all. Heck man, this is the time to learn how to be wrong so you get it right when it counts(a few years down the road still.):)

Actually Rikky has hit the nail on the head do something out of the blue, spontaneously.. say she likes or can rollerskate or likes themeparks, then arrange a date with her so you know she is free and have the day planned already so that when she comes around your ready to go... rather than site their for hours on end saying to each other what are we going to do today! (which leads into Augies I'm bored comment).

and even design for a cooked evening meal in a menu and have it on the table, Publisher or Office Word has templates you can start with and add your own touch.

Ask her friends what she likes, could be just a small present like perfume etc, get the friends onboard to say *oh I want a BF like that and your numero uno in the friends minds which is who in part you also need to impress as they can make or break a relationship*

Watch the film "Hitch" for ideas ;)

Holey...crapola, its like agony uncles corner here!

Bwahahaha! Get her some patchouli oil, not much of anything affordable in that area that doesn't stink of ....;)

Yup, teenage angst! Ain't it just lovely? Thank someone to not have to go through that again!-D

Bring surprise to her. Have a look at what she likes, and find something to build on that. A jigsaw puzzle is great. Perhaps she likes... whatever. Find a puzzle with that on it and you can spend hours putting it together.

Based on the fact that he is still in a relationship I'd say, yes, he has forgotten all of it. Or at least wisely ignored it. :p

There are so many bad jokes I could make... :-D

Zack, what I would do is look around for unusual things going on around your town. Alternatively, give her a few weeks notice, a budget, and tell her you will take her wherever she wants, do whatever she wants, within your budget. Heck make her do a little work all along. ;)

The Guy did that for me once, and it was surprisingly fun. I made him be a part of my research and planning, and turned that part into something fun for us to do together as well.

Hm... I should hint to him to do that again... LOL
