DesertCombat 0.7 is nearing.. Below is some screenshots to show off some of the level changes you can expect in the next release. One of the primary goals of DC.7 was optimization and bug fixes, so you can expect DesertCombat to run a lot better on most machines.

We are also including bot support for Basrahs Edge and it is a lot of fun...

From what I've read on the forums at http://www.desertcombat.com/, the .7 release will be this Friday. And besides the addition of bot support for Basrah's Edge, I believe it will mostly be an optimization release, rather than a vehicle/weapons/maps release. Which is good, because .6 was slow as a TownCar drivin' granny!

On a related side note, KIOSK (a DCX tester) posted in their forums that DCX .6 will be out today...err...tonight

They need some more DCX servers though.
Ive only been able to play multi once in the
past 2 weeks.. Tried getting into the WhiteWidow
server but usually its locked..


Would like to play it more, seemed really fun.

 

why don't you host a server? have you tried the AllSeeingEye?

Ahh looks like a bday present from my girl.. I'll try it out for awhile. See how it works and stuff. If it works good I could host a server, have only 4 computers at home...

SYNFLUX is having trouble with the DCX server at the moment. The new DCX release will come probably within a week. It was scheduled for 2-3 but they found some bugs at the last moment and postponed it. LOL, bot support for Basrah's Edge. Nice to see that DC is finally getting around to doing what DCX has already done. We've had bot support on Basrah's Edge since version 5. The latest DC is more of an optimization release, while the DCX release will come jam packed with new vehicles, weapons, skins, and so on. As soon as SYNFLUX sorts out the problem with the server it will be running 24/7.

I've hosted ghost recon and unreal thru All Seeing Eye before. I pretty sure you can host most games there.

 

So I've decided not to install the .7 patch. I've read too many negative things about it, from non-noticeable performance changes, to removing bot support on maps, to removed dc support from other maps. So, since .6 works just fine for me, and DCX .7 is just around the corner, I will not install this patch and I will wait for the release of DCX .7.
