Dc Distribution

Edison talked big about how his DC was the best. But how was he planning on distributing it? Did anyone hear him say? Was everyone to have their own little generating plant, maybe using coal?

I saw the Wikipedia article. I was wondering what he planned to do about distant transmission: if he had to move his 110VDC more than a mile or two, the wires would become massive.

 

Edison had no possible solution to the primary drawback of DC distribution which ultimately resulted in him being forced out of controlling his own company.
