    Hi,

I started having a problem with a NetSky Worm - and a Virus (that I can;t remember the name of-but supposedly in the FAKE realm) I seemed to pick it up from the Photobucket site. I tried to run Malwarebytes (full Scan-but it would keep restarting) finally I was able to run quick scan and it worked. I restored the computer and it seemed to give me a fix. Although now the DCOM message comes up, it restars my computer after several minutes, I cannot access Safe Mode, nor can I run Ad Adware/Spybot etc because it restarts in the middle of the run.

I wanted to even run a backup prior to trying more fixes but it keeps restarting.

    Any ideas?

i have been having the same problem, the most help i can give you is when the dcom message telling you it will restart your computer pops up quickly press the windows button + R then in the run menu type in shutdown -A
this should keep your computer from restarting thus giving you the time to keep running you programs to find and remove the malware that is causing this.

I am running on Windows 7 and got the same problem and I'm not a tech guy, but know enough about Windows structure and here's what I did.

    1. Click Start
    2. type "msconfig" in the search programs and files box
    3. click on the "Services" tab
    4. Uncheck the following boxes:
    COM+ System Application
    COM+ Event System
    Power
    UPnP Device Host
    5. press Apply button
    6. press OK button
    7. restart your computer

Upon restart my monitor brightness dimmed, but atleast my computer worked. I then went to www.download.com and typed malwarebytes
and downloaded the malware program. Once it completed and updated, I performed a "Full Scan" on all drives which took about 40
minutes. If any trojans are found, I recommend removing them. After that was complete I restarted my computer. Lastly, I did steps
1-7 again except on step 4 I re-checked those boxes. When the computer restarted again, I did a full system virus scan 1 more time
with malwarebytes program just to make sure there wasn't anymore trojans. Good Luck and I hope this helps everyone!!!
