DDR2 Kingston Hyper X 1066MHz

I got x2 1gb Kingston Hyper X DDR2 1066MHz RAM a while ago & I have been quite unimpressed with it's performance, so I took a look at CPU-Z to see what it's doing & it's actually running at 553.4MHz?

Hardware:

Mobo: ASUS M3A, DDR2 2, 667MHz, 800MHz, 1066MHz*
*1066MHz with Quad core CPU

CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9750, 2.4GHz 65nm

RAM: Kingston Hyper X, DDR2, 1066MHz

PSU: CoolerMaster Extreme Power Duo 650W SLI & Crossfire


To try to correct this I had already switched the RAM in the BIOS to "1067", So I took a look around & saw that the RAM should be set @ 2.2V which I did & 5-5-5-15. Not entirely sure what should be 5-5-5-16 LOL

Any help would be much apreciated, I could have stuck with my £8 per GB RAM but this stuff was £25 per GB eek

First of, the 5-5-5-15 numbers are your timings, usually labeled as CL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS in your BIOS. Second, CPUz is telling you the memory clock built into the SPD. Take that 533.4 number times two and you get 1066.8, rounded up to 1067, your memory speed. That's what the "double" in DDR means.

 

So it is actually running at 1066MHz?

I saw a video on YouTube of a guy explaining Kingston Hyper X 1066MHz, but on his CPU-Z it displayed 1066MHz not 553MHz :confused
