Dead Compaq V6000

I have a laptop that has Vista Home PremiumOEMact Compaq V6000. Other than that it has a blank screen, hard drive light comes on but thats it. The power cord gets power to the machine. I have taken the battery out to reset it but no good, I have taken out the ram and did a reset but no good. Any ideas?

It does not seem to be powering on at all. I also tried the Fn f4 key with another monitor hooked up still nothing.

 

do u get a bios screen? f2 on boot

 

No F2 no nothing it does not even try to boot up

 

What do you mean reset?Cmos reset?Did you take the Cmos battery out fir 10 secs then replace?If not thats your next task.

The next thing I would try is removing the harddrive and try to boot without it.

 

Compaq confirms the hardware problem, you can check on their site, support is given up to april this year. Mine died in june I'm still waiting for a reply.

 

What graphics chipset is installed in that laptop?
