    Hi all

I am haveing a Very diffiecult time mounting an NTFS drive in Debian. I have Tried This:

    fdisk -l

    cd /mnt

    mkdir windows

    mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/windows -t ntfs -r

But all that did was make the Drive disappear from the OS, so that i have to restart...Any ideas on how i can fix this?

First make sure you have the NTFS-3g package installed

with the windows drive UNMOUNTED open the fstab file using your text editor:
if its gnome desktop use gedit...

FIRST make a backup of your fstab sudo cp /ect/fstab /etc/fstab_bak

    sudo gedit /etc/fstab

add this line to the bottom

    /dev/sda1 /mnt/windows ntfs-3g defaults 0 0

    save, exit and reboot.
