I'm getting a message that says Debug Assertion Failed. What is it and how do I get rid of it?

Try to start the application in debug mode, wait for the debug assertion to occur, then check the Call Stack window in Visual Studio. The call stack lists every function call that your application has made, in reverse order, so start at the top and read downwards until you recognize the most recent function call within your code (not windows code). Double-click on it and you'll be taken to the location in your code where it was called. Usually the problem is in this vicinity, or it can be traced backward from here.
