Decibel levels

Needin' some help here...
We're doing an experiment for a class in which we're varying decibel levels of music that the participants listen to. The only prob we're running into is that we're not sure how to set the levels. Is there a way to do it in iTunes or Windows Media PLayer or some other program? Or do any of you know of a program we can use to set the decibel levels? Weh ave 3 set levels for the songs we're having them listen to.
