    Hi there,

I have a subscription to a VPN service. They provide guides how to configure a router (eg DD-WRT) thats connected to their VPN service.

However i instead wish to keep my standard ISP sky router and have my devices connected.

I would then like to have a secondary VPN dedicated 'device' that is linked to the SKY router. This way i can have some devices go through VPN and some just connect traditionally.

I have connected a diagram outlining what i am trying to achive. Could anyone point me in the direction how this would be done?

    Many thanks,

Is this all wireless? I think DD-WRT router OS has the capability to create 2 networks on the router.

    Hi thanks for your reply,

The Sky broadband "ISP router" is mixed wired and wireless i would prefer the same for the attached VPN router. But its not critical if it has to be all wireless.

My real question is what hardware do i need for the VPN device.

Then once i have it and its configured to VPN. How do i then pass it through my ISP router to the internet.

    Thanks

I hope you are paying for a VPN,using a free VPN has risks of it's own.Free VPNs rely on advertising for revenue. This is also why a VPN that limits your data is less likely to be dangerous than one that offers a free product.

Thanks for your concern. As in the op above it’s a subscription service I pay for.

Update: I was able to achieve what I wanted.

I now have 2 wireless networks in my house. One is via my ISP as it used to be. The second is via a tp-link router. When connected to my second router traffic is routed through a VPN service I pay for.

One downside is that the speeds are slower than my ISP speeds. This is basically because the router I chose is cheap.
