Same situation Im in, how ironic

Wonder how it works with making bootable CDs, i.e. slipstream OS cds.

 

XP cd writing app won't burn ISOs, will nto do 1:1 copies, and will not make audio CDs, except in conjunction with Windows Media Player.

It also will not make bootable CDs or burn DVDs.

A little less known fact, it uses 21mb of overhead per session on a CD.

I think that covers it for the most part.

 

if you work out how to change the boot sector and/or make bootable CDs with this please tell me, because i cant find anywhere to change the parameters to make a SP1 slipstream cd. So i had to revert back to Nero.

Um, yep, now that you mention it, that was the precise reason. I had mandrake ISOs I couldnt' burn.

But can you make bootable CDs with it!

 

Well i suggested it to them on their "to-do" list because thats the only reason im not using their program full time. it lets you attach a boot image to it but it wont let you change the start sector (which needs to be 07C0 i think with M$ slipstream CDs) which is why i cant use it

 

Lol, yep i think it was on the lounge hehehe, silly. i had some sushi while i was in london this week, actually!

But err yes, thanks for the links, I did look at that faq thing, but I was worried because I know in order to make Nero make a proper CD you had to set some sectors or somthing to somtihng different to the default.
