Defender And Win10

I have an Asus laptop X555D. I bought it 6 months ago but I have not used it until last night. The first thing I did as download all the updates for windows. Now the questions: Should I check for updats for Defender? Do I need anything like Mbam or Panda to back up Defender? Or maybe use instead of defender? Any other suggestions to make Win10 experience better?

 

As long as you have Windows Updates set to automatic, WD definitions and versions will stay up to date without manual intervention.
MBAM Free version as a back up system scanner is well worth it.
Using a program like the free O & O Shut Up 10 you can block many of the very large number of privacy intrusions in Win 10.

 

I have Mbam 3 which I can transfer over (I think). I shall try the other one you recommended

 

I like and use O&O ShutUp10. Be sure to Export settings from the File menu before and after making changes.

There are also other choices.
