Defendgate Smartfix Helpneeded please

I downloaded this software to hide myself when i'm browsing the internet. The dialog box that comes up when using this software tells me to type the website address that I want to go to without the "http://" in the beginning to browse the net anom. (for example: just type www.google.com) The only problem is is that when you do that, Internet Explorer automatically adds in the http://.
