Good afternoon all... I have a couple questions that I would be very interested to hear the answers to.
    1. What is the Most Thorough freeware defrag program out there. I am currently using Auslogics and it is fine. However, it seems to complete very quickly and that scares me just a little. I just want to make sure it is doing the job it was meant to do. Any suggestions?

    2. Would it be worht the money to invest in a Pay defrag program? Is there any difference between the two?

    Thanks so much

I prefer IOBits Defrag program. It's free, and also has a constant optimization feature.

Note: SSDs should NOT be defragged.

One really doesn't need to defrag often, if ever, unless you in/unin-stall stuff frequently. XP and up have decent defraggers built in, no need to buy one IMO nor use one except perhaps once a year.

Heck man, I reinstall my Windows twice a year. That's got to be up there in the 'anal' category!:-D

It completes quickly probably because there's hardly anything to do. Do you check your device manager before defragging? What does it say? A screen picture would be informative.
