I have two hardrive, running window XP Professional
C: Drive have 74.5 gig total, used 52.2 gig, and 22.3 gig free
D: Drive have 149 gig total, used 123 gig, 26.0 gig free.

    Defragment program I have
    Norton Speed Disk, Voptxp 7.22
Both of those show My C: Drive as nearly full, even though window and window defrag show my pc as having those space.

    Here is some pic
    VoptXP and C: Drive

    Norton Speedisk

    The window defrag program

The problem is when I run norton speedisk it freezes after a certain point, and stop moving, while vopt xp will freeze, than say there is no more free space, even though there is, what is the problem, and how can I fix it?

ACDsee problem, is when I use the browsemode, it freezes and crash when ever I go to another folder, and it works fine if I just view the image in image view mode.

Blue, have you got lots of files in the Norton protected file bin? This may be skewing your totals, although I doubt if this is the main cause of your troubles. Clear your recycle bin, then try Speed Disk again. Bazza

windows defrag needs to have about a quarter of the disk free before it can defrag the disk, i imagine its the same for these programs.

this space is needed because the defrag program will move combine the file fragments in free space before moving them to a permanent location on your disk drive.

try removing unused programs and deleting unused files, also try compressing files you dont use too often.
