    1. What's the optimal place for the page file and MFT Reserved Zone? (assuming I vary their sizes infrequently) Or more specifically, should I try to move them to the very front of the drive?

    2. Is setting "NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate = 1" still recommended for XP?

My defragger said: "NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate is active, ignoring LastAccessTime for SpaceHogs."

I read somewhere that setting "NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate = 1" in the registry speeds up Windows XP because then it doesn't have to constantly update the 'Last Access' time for files, but now I'm wondering if the gain from that is bigger than the loss caused by various programs having to operate without this info, i.e. worse file placement optimization by defraggers, etc.
