Has anyone out there in MG Land familiar with the defrag programs from AShampoo? They have 2 of 'em, named Magical Defrag and Magical Defrag 2. I'm not necessarily looking for a new and different defragger, I'm more curious than anything else.... Thanks!

    Hi DLB

Defrag apps are a much of a muchness! many just do space defrags, this is fine, the paid apps do access, modified and name defrags, are they better... who knows but if you are formatted as NTFS then any of them are fine, my preference is access, but thats me and I use O&O.

NTFS if its the format just doesnt fragment as much as FAT, so defragging is a once in a year thing to be honest.

Yeah, I personally use Auslogics with WinXP Pro (NTFS) and I defrag about once a month or so. But I install, download, uninstall, delete, lots of crap on a regular basis so I think once a month is about right. Once a year seems not often enough, but whatever. To each his own, and if it works for you and you're happy with it, cool. I'm not really sure why I was asking about the AShampoo defraggers, I guess I don't really have a reason... just curious I suppose....

Im the same dlb i DL and install and delete and uninstall copius amounts of data and app's and my sysytem would probably be on its knees if i didn't defrag for a year, hell i probably wipe and reinstall windows more often than that :|

Now as for the point of you post :p ..... Ive never even heard of ashampoo defraggers, and i probably wont be giving any new defraggers a go until i find a reason to dislike RAXCO.

I've heard about Ashampoo, but never used it because the specs didn't really appeal to me. Since I picked Diskeeper as my defragger - presently the DK2009 Pro version- and it is slick, I've not really given other defraggers serious thought.
