I use Raxco Perfect Disk [NOT FREE], which i am very happy with as it has lots of options and settings to play with to customise the way it runs.

Before i had that i always used DEFRAGGLER http://majorgeeks.com/Defraggler_d5777.html

[I also second what sikvik said about sticking with one defrag app' nothing is to be gained by running moe than one, HOWEVER, do feel free to try as many as you like until you find one that you are happy with, just stick with it when you do. :)

edit: but keep in mind that once you defrag with one app and then defrag with a second, as they use different algorythyms it has to shuffle basicly the whole drive so the first run will take a while and does not reflect the future performance you can expect.

My favorite defragger is Diskeeper 2009 Professional (not free)....powerful utility - it defrags systems files, all drives simultaneously, in low space of less than 5% etc etc. It's the fastest one I've tried, and it's automatic too so nothing to do except install and forget :D

Yeah, just use one defragger..that's all you'll need; don't mix n' match.

Smart defrag is a good program to use i think, I have been using it for months and not let me down yet it runs in the background and it wont slow your computer down.

    Give that program a try.

I also use Smart Defrag. So far so good.

Just pick one and stick with it. :)

I personally like the Ultimate Defragger.
But the trick is to find one that you like and use it exclusively. Each has its own way of ordering files and what works for one is seen as a very high fragmentation rate by another.
