Delayed audio

    G'day from Oz
    When playing games with audio, or viewing video online(eg Utube) I experience delayed audio to movement.
    Simply. when a piece of a jigsaw is placed correctly a click is heard. This sound is delayed by 1/2 sec; as is the speech of a video.
    I am running Windows XP with Service Pack2.
    My driver is NVIDIA(R)nForce(TM)audio
    Sound (Control Panel--Sounds & Devices) is set at windows default
    Any help is good. Thanks
