confused Hopefully, someone familiar with AOL can help me with this problem.
Once I uninstall AOL from Add/Remove Programs - how do I completely delete all the bits and pieces from my system? I am having trouble changing my password. Keyword "password" does not help or any of their other links. No matter what I try, a blank window "Screen Name Service" just sits there, and at the bottom of the screen a running bar "Opening page" keeps repeating over and over and over. LIVEHELP is no help whatsoever as I have tried their suggestions, and I even have problems sometimes just trying to log on to the site. I have called techsupport (which is another torturous hell just getting thru to a live techie). I therefore would like to completely remove this AOL version and all its related bits and pieces so it won't foul up a new install.
Thanks for any and all help. OBTW can anyone supply me with an email address for AOL techsupport? They used to have one, and now you cannot even e-mail them?? Any idea now to send 'em an email?
Telephone support is a hassle just to get through. thanks.

Delete all AOL folders from C drive and c:\Program Files folder.

Run CCleaner, do the registry cleaning, make sure nothing is running in startup as well through CCleaner.

See if that helps. I always called AOL, email support is harder for everyone.

Start, Search, All files and folders, type in aol under All or part of the file name, under Look in: choose Local hard drives (C: for sure), under More advanced options: Type of File: All files and folders.Put a check mark in each of the first three boxes, Search system folders, Search hidden files and folders, Search subfolders. If you have been running aol for a while it may take some time, and there may be a plethora of hidden files. Not all files with aol in them might need to be deleted. right click the file and choose properties to check it out if in doubt, and you can leave them in the recycle bin for a time to make sure. Most of the files will be in My Computer, Local Disk (C), Program Files, Common Files, some probably in Application Data folders under Documents and Settings as well. You may also need to go to folder options in the control panel and make sure that under the View tab, under Hidden files and folders, you have Show hidden files and folders checked. Good luck. You can use aol without their software by going to www.aol.com, unless aol is your internet service provider. If you must use it go back to 8.0. www.oldversion.com, and run CCleaner Slim,
