You know eating chocolate cookies isn't going to do wonders for your waistline. But did you know cookies could also be adding to your credit card balance?

The cookies we’re talking about are crumbs of information stored on your Web browser that online retailers use to identify customers. They can sometimes mean the difference between higher or lower prices on the same item. Some online shoppers have found that when they delete cookies from their browser, they get better deals.

Ya I noticed on a site that I often bought at, I noticed it when I was pricing out the parts for my newest rig.

BTW, this place is where I do most of my shopping for parts and had an account. when I put it in my wish basket the price dropped to what I had seen before when not logged in the first time. Seems like multiple accesses to a site is what triggers it. Anyways, I got a great rig at the right price and time.

um, wouldnt that be illegal for websites to do?

it would be like a store that monitored how many times you went there and raised prices accordingly...that would make me kinda angry.
