Delete files PROBLEMS!!

Hi there.......I'm having a problem. It is as follows: every time I try to delete files from the Programs folder on my external (media) drive, it says I don't have permission, even though I'm the administrator. I have NO IDEA how to get rid of these old files! Specifically, it is (Kaspersky Anti Virus) Shellex.dll that will not go away. It is causing problems with my spyware program (Spyware terminator). Any help would be appreciated!!

Hi

Was this external drive formatted under XP originally over Vista as this sounds like a common issue that does affect Vista due to its stricter permissions, so you could try and give yourself admin permissions for that drive directly.

Open Computer and right click the external drives icon and choose Properties > click the Security tab > Edit > Add > Advanced > Find Now > locate your admin user name in the list and click to highlight and then click OK and follow any prompts.

Yes, this drive was formatted on XP. However, none of the proposed solutions worked.......I followed all instructions to the letter, but the problem persists. Ummmm......new hard drive? LOL
