Delete files that can be recovered.

Hi guys,

i was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a free program which deletes photos that can be recovered using other software. i got a few photos of my gf that i dont want my bro recoverin lol.

so you want somthing to delete a file to stop it from bieng recovered. well unless you bro is a computer genious he isnt going to be able to recover any files once your recycle bin is emptied.

There are some recovery tools that will work to recover deleted files so I understand your problem if your bro has such a tool. To make absolutely certain you could use a little program called "Eraser" which should put the pics beyond the reach of your bro.

Link to download Eraser as Robert pointed out above, its a very good application to securely delete files you dont want recovered ( be very sure any files you delete using this you dont want at some point ) uses some multipass methods which are very hard for a normal user to recover from.

just to be more secure use the above program which will put the pics out of reach and you can test using this recovery program http://www.pcinspector.de/smart_media_recovery/uk/welcome.htm and see if you can recover them if not then your fine, if you can recover some then Erase again, then format the card, take some more pics... a blank wall will do fill the card up then format again as the data will be more jumbled up and less likely to be recovered.

But Eraser should do it 1st time
