    Hi There!

    I was installing an OS and realized after installation that I needed more space. So, I created larger partitions and installed my OS on another partition (keeping the original OS partition too), in fact I installed another OS on another partition too. So now I have the OS 2000 on the small insufficient partition (half deleted), OS 2000 on another (which I will keep) and OS XP on another (which, too I will keep).

    I deleted OS files from the original (the smaller) OS 2K partition. I remember once before having the same problem before (long long ago) and I formatted the smaller partition....ended up having a missing NTLDR and could not boot up to the 2nd OS on a different partition and then had to reinstall everything!

    Problem: Now on bootup I get a screen asking which OS I want to use...that is perfect but I get a choice of 3 when only 2 work.....Is there any way for me to get rid of the 3rd choice for the OS I have deleted?

    Thanks.

    Sincerely,
    LeVanay

    aLLiKZar It's not too late to back out!

    Have you checked your boot.ini? Should be
    mulitple lines with different OS choice.
    Similar to this but more OS choices..

    [boot loader]
    timeout=30
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
    C:\="Microsoft Windows"

    Hi There!

    Now you have me worried.....but when I check my boot.ini, what should I do? Should I delete the entry?

    Thanks.

    Sincerely,

    You Guys Are Just Great !

    Thank you very much!

    Tweaking the Boot.ini solved the problem.
