How did you delete it? Just the icon for it? Or did you uninstall it?

Try going to your control panel, and add & remove programs. Click on "add & remove windows components" and make sure Internet Explorer is ticked.

What OS are you on? If on XP and you can't find the icon for it, right click the task bar, select properties and click the start menu tab. Go to Customise and at the bottom of that window, tick "Internet" and you should get your icon back.

If you actually uninstalled it, then I don't really know what to do about it, but I'm sure someone else here can help in that case! :)

    Good luck! :)

...actually just had another thought, there are Internet Explorer fix utilities posted in that last link I posted including IE Fix - it may worth doing that first before downloading and installing browsers.

I did download Firefox. One problem. My Bayscribe short-cut word processing program wont work in it. I have short cuts I use while in bayscribe and none of the CTRL and function keys work while in Firefox.

    Any suggestions?

    They do run in explorer.

You should be able to easily repair Internet Explorer.

What operating system are you running?

OK, did you try to solve your original problem of missing IEXPLORE.EXE? You won't be able to get Windows Update without it.

Problem number 2: I would expect FireFox to define keys within the browser, which may be modified if you have FireFox extensions installed. Both the FireFox default behaviour with or without extensions could well overide or take precendent over any web based application. Do you have any extensions?

One possible resource is to download an extension that can modify or disable your keys, for example: http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=254&hl=keyboard
