I mistakenly deleted my internet explorer when I got a virus, I deleted the whole Iexplore folder, and now I can't use my internet explorer for anything, get online, see my files on my comp, keeps on telling me "can't find Iexplore". I tried to go to microsoft and d/l internet explorer 6, I installed it and for some reason I can't get it to work. Some one please help, with out sending me some smart A** reply to just use firefox or modzilla, I don't care about any other programs, I just want my comp fixed. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Did you try the link I gave you? If it's not working for you be a little more specific about what happens. What does it tell you?

When you click on Internet Explorer what happens, is that when you get the error message? Were you ever able to get online with the computer?

Just provide a little more info on exactly what is happening.

Of course garbage aol has to be on,but that'll be fixed this weekend when I switch to comcast. Now I just gotta find someone that can switch my win 98se to XP. Thanks again

Did you buy the xp upgrade cd? It is "sometimes" a fairly "painless" process. :)

That's what Major Geeks is here for datboytaz. When you are ready to upgrade to XP just let us know.

You would just create a new thread listing your system info and what you want to do, the members here will be glad to help you. :)

No problem. Some threads are quite fast, others are slow. I've done large replies and find that three people have posted, by the time I hit "submit reply".

no I have a copy that I acquired. My one friend that does comps said he'd do it but still has never happened and I don't think it can be that hard. I've had to reinstall win 98 at least 6 times since 1999. Any online links that might be able to walk me thru it?

So, did you acquire this at a retail store? Or did you get a copy from a friend?

I don't believe I'm overstepping my bounds here. But, if you borrowed xp from a friend, then you may not want to post in these forums. I'd recommend buying a LEGAL copy of XP. Then, i'm sure others here will be more than happy to help you.

XP is cheap. I think walmart has the upgrade copy for a mere $100 or so....

If you mean acquiring a legal copy from walmart(or another retail store), then proceed to ask help.

I got it from compusa. Its a completely legal disc. Its actually not even the upgrade its the regular XP home edition. I don't like dealing with bootlegs, illeagal and always have problems.
