Hi there: I am runing Windows Xp sp2. I have some obsolete and unwated items in the Start up. I went into the System Configuration Utility and then to the Start Up tab. I deleted the obsolete and unwanted entries.

On re-boot the entries are not disabled! I have run out of ideas. Can anyone offer a solution?

    Thanks.

Thanks but it didn't help. I have even used RegSeeker and deleted the offending entries but they just come back when computer is re-booted.

First shutdown the offenders. Then you may want a tool like startup controlpanel. Also check the start menu > startup & last delete everything from the prefetch (do a serch for the folder) that *should* stop them from coming back.
