Deleting A Hidden Folder

I recently scanned an old hard drive using the Undelete function within WinUtilities. I discovered the hidden folder shown on the attached scan - the folder with the strange name. Unfortunately WU doesn't have an option to delete that folder once I'd discovered it and of course I can't 'see' it outside of WU. I think the folder was created with My Lockbox.
Anyone have a suggestion as to how I can delete it?

You can wipe free space on that hard drive using something like Eraser or the wipe free space option under Cleaner > Windows > Advanced in CCleaner Slim. Choose at least 3 passes. That will wipe any deleted files from that drive.

The folder is not deleted it's HIDDEN. I have wiped all the free space on the drive and it's still there.

Scan the drive with 'Recuva'. Have it use the tree view. In 'Advanced' select 'show hidden system files and directories'. Also select 'show undeleted files'. It will list all files found on the drive. Once it's finished, select your folder and right click, and use 'secure delete hightlighted'.

That didn't work. It said it was wiping the file but after it was still there

Open Control Panel > Folder Options > View.
Ensure 'Show hidden files, folders, or drives' is selected, and 'Hide protected operating system files' is unselected.
Can you now see it outside of WinUtilities?

Using an 'undelete' program suggested it had originally been deleted. If wiping the free space (not a file) doesn't work then no idea what your next step is. That program gave you a file path and if even with all hidden files unhidden you still cant find it then, who knows.
    Good luck.

Apparently, the folder was deleted but WU didn't "disassociate" from it. The folder doesn't exist so, I wouldn't worry about it.

Empty folders don't take up any space anyway. If the only thing you're worried about is that? And you have already taken steps to delete it. Then there is nothing that can really be done to further remedy the situation.

When I can't get rid of something (I've had "files" that were 0bytes in size and yet the icon remained on my desktop), I boot a linux USB stick, find the file through that and delete it.

    All sorted......case closed.
Many thanks all. Linux was the chosen solution and it went off well. I used LiLi USB Creator which made the whole exercise of creating a Live Linux so easy. I just chose one at random from the drop down list in LiLi - Mint I think - booted from that, straight to the folder and deleted it. It wasn't empty by the way, lots of files were in there, around 16GB.

So if anyone else has a similar problem don't b****r around trying other 'solutions' go straight for Linux.
