deleting empty folders

Hi,

I am looking for some software that scans and removes empty folders. I hate it when my system gets messy with a lot of folders than have nothing in them. For example when you remove software it sometimes leaves traces. Now I know some pieces of software require folders to be there for it to function right, empty or not so was wondering if there was such software available

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Hey Q, I did take a quick look at that before making the post but noticed the posts were made quite some time ago, 2005 to be exact. However I did check to see if I could find the programs discussed in the posts but had no luck...

Im not familiar with this type of program, but let me have a mooch round and see what i can find....

 

Ok, if your comfortable working from command prompt (cmd) try this... http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,803393,00.asp

It's not an app' but instructions for a Command to delete all empty folders.


Don't worry about deleting any "needed" empty folders, as a new one will be created when whatever created it comes to use it again.

Before you do any of this set a restore point!

For the person looking to deleting empty folders. I use Glary Utilities. Nice program.

 

I've always used DelEmpty - quick, simple, to the point...

Lots of other good little programs on that site, too...
