Deleting File Trouble

Hey there. Im stumped. My friend (who owns a mac) sent me 2 PPT & DOC files. that she created on her Microsoft Office for Mac. I tried to open them (on my PC) and they did not work. I later figured out what needed to be done on her end. However, When I tried deleting them from my computer, it deleted (sort of) The information was deleted, however, the Icons will NOT go away. When i try to delete them, it says they cannot be deleted.

Any ideas? Tried everything possible: safe mode - did not work - trying it in cmd,
The file name is Test Doc. (2 words followed by a period) The filename used to be Test Doc.doc but when I first deleted it, it removed the .doc and made it just Test Doc.

Now when I try to hit erase c:\users\lou\desktop\test doc.
it says: Could not find c:\users\lou\desktop\test
It leaves off the doc. If memory serves me correctly, you cannot have spaces inbetween the file name so what do i do instead?

try looking through documents and settings within those folders are ones for your desktop look in them if you locate the file try and delete it from there
