deleting files from USB flash drives

the situation is this:
a USB flash drive full of files for a client. the client doesnt want anyone to be able to delete files from USB keys.
I have been fiddling with this for a while.
the drives have been formatted with NTFS. however when i change permissions in security settings it either makes the files unable to be read at all... gives me no permissions... or doesnt do anything.
anyone got a quick fix for this?
driving me nuts

Hello,
This will only work for computers that the client has access to. It involves a registry change. Or does he want the USB keys not deletable by anybody he gives them to? Do not know how to do that.

Hi

I'm with tgell on this and in the main the software route as mentioned needs access to every PC that this drive may come into contact with, the only option I can think of, off hand is to use a USB drive that has a "write protect" tab on it then copy the data to it and then set to write protect and superglue the tab in thw write protect position.

yeah managed to fix it by formatting the flash drives with NTFS then setting some permissions so the files could not be deleted moved etc
