deleting SP2 = IE favs folder and site icons GONE???

im running XP pro(sp1 after deleting SP2 for the second time). 1 gig of ram. 2.4 pentium 4. ummm... my major problem is that i have lost my favorites icons for my folders and sites for Internet Explorer Version:6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.050301-1526 (is that enough info?) it states that i have a IE version for sp2 and i have no clue how to change it. i have a few other programs that aren't opening at all.. im sure its due to the SP2 as well. how can i TOTALLY get rid of this SP2 problem. when i REloaded my OS after my last HD problems i put SP2 on before my other progs and it STILL didn't help. SO i have deleted it AGAIN. my settings are still screwed. anything i can do besides reload it ALL again without touching SP2?? please HELP

by the title i seem to have missguided. I am missing all folder icon and the actual icons for each site inside the folders in my favorites menu on IE. I DO STILL HAVE ALL MY FAVS restored from importing bookmarks

if I read this right, you have all the correct bookmarks still, but dont have the little icon pics for each of the sites?

if you had custom icons or none standard themes for XP then by installing SP2 this will restore the main icons and theme to default, you would need to use themepatcher again and manually change your icons,

if its the little icons that depict a website eg. Majorgeeks is the geek in tinhat icon then most likely that the index.dat and cookies were deleted and re-newed on SP2 install, and you would have to visit your sites and save them again.
