dell cpt help

I had to change the hinge on my dell cpt, piece of cake or so I thought. After I put it back together the screen is totaly dark. I tried a different lcd and it is the same. I can switch to external monitor and it works that way. I see on the lcd flex cable there are a couple metal parts that have little feet that touch the computer frame and a little piece that fits in to a slot on the switch cover below the bezel. I just wonder if there is an issue with the cable or something. Any ideas?
